UPDATE: Police called to home hours before Davenport fatal fire
UPDATE: On Monday, January 15 just after 11:00 p.m., the Davenport Police Department received a call about a domestic disturbance at the home, hours before crews responded to the fire. Our Quad Cities News spoke with a neighbor who lived in the area for over a year who called in the fire at the time. They said they did not know anyone personally who was living in the residence at the time of the fire and they would see different people leaving and arriving at the residence occasionally. According to a Davenport Calls for Service Report, there were more than 2 calls made in reference to the location of the fire later that day.
UPDATE: According to a release, during a search of the residence, firefighters located two deceased people at the site of a Davenport fire. The origin of the fire and cause of death are suspicious, firefighters say.
This incident is under investigation by the Davenport Police Department; no further information is available at this time.
A fire at a house in Davenport was also the subject of two police calls throughout the day.
On Tuesday, January 16 at approximately 3:57 a.m., the Davenport Fire Department responded to the 5200 block of Division Street in reference to a structure fire at a residence. Fire crews arrived on scene and saw smoke billowing throughout the house. Crews put the fire out quickly.
Police were called to the house twice later about theft, but it’s not clear what was found in the investigation.
