Four members of a New York congressman's extended family are injuredin plane crash
Four people, who are all related to a New York congressman, were injured in a small plane crash on Friday.
Authorities said the pilot of the Piper PA46 was critically injured. The other three passengers were also injured.
The four victims are Rep Sean Patrick Maloney's extended family members.

Democrat Maloney said in a Facebook post that the crash occurred Friday afternoon as his husband Randy's relatives were on a trip from Ohio to Rhode Island.
Their plane crashed 'just a few miles' from the congressman's home in the Hudson Valley.
'The family involved were the in-laws of Randy’s cousin, Laurieanne Florke Scott (her husband John’s brother David and his wife and two kids),' Maloney shared in the Facebook post.

The plane was reportedly trying to make an emergency landing because it was running on gas.
The FAA is investigating the incident.

Authorities said the pilot was rushed to Westchester Medical in critical condition. The other three victims onboard sustained less serious injuries.
Maloney, whose districts include Orange and Putnam counties as well as parts of Westchester and Dutchess counties, extended his gratitude to first responders.
'The rescue effort was very difficult, and we’re enormously impressed and grateful for all the first responders and medical personnel in Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester Counties who responded,' Maloney shared on Facebook.
Maloney said it was 'miraculous that no one perished' and he thanked his constituents for their 'prayers and good thoughts'.
The extent of the victims' injuries have not been released.
Maloney was elected to New York’s 18th Congressional District in 2012. He became New York’s first openly gay congressman after his marriage to his longtime partner, Randy Florke, in 2014.
