Congratulations! Hilary Swank gave birth, welcoming twins with her husband, Philip Schneider.

“It wasn’t easy,” she captioned an April 9 Instagram photo holding her two kids. “But boy (and girl!) was it worth it. Happy Easter! Posting from pure Heaven.”

The Oscar winner did not immediately announce the names of her children. Her fans and famous friends were thrilled to hear that she fulfilled her dream of being a mom, with Misha Collins, Viola Davis, Mariska Hargitay, Kate Hudson, Julianne Hough and more leaving sweet comments under the post.

Throughout her surprise pregnancy, Hilary, 48, regularly kept fans up to date on her growing baby bump. “Oven’s heatin’ up, dough’s beginning to rise!!” the longtime actress captioned a photo of herself on February 5 wherein she wore an all-black workout set, slippers and a gray cardigan.

Of course, it didn’t take long for Hilary’s famous friends to chime in with their words of encouragement. “Hahaha You are so big just in the middle. Adorable,” Sharon Stone commented, while Lindsay Lohan and Aaron Paul left sweet emojis.

Hilary first announced her pregnancy during an October 2022 segment of Good Morning America. “This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom,” she gushed at the time. “And not just of one, but of two. I can’t believe it.”

While preparing for her twins, Hilary opened up about what pregnancy meant to her. “I feel like women are superheroes,” the Lincoln, Nebraska, native expressed during a February appearance on James Corden‘s talk show. “What our bodies do? I have such, like, a whole newfound respect. I mean, I love women, I’ve always loved women, but now, I’m like, ‘Wow, we can do this!'”

Hilary channeled some of her own inner superhero while filming her ABC series, Alaska Daily, and keeping her pregnancy a secret.

“But my clothes started not to fit. And then I put a jacket on that wasn’t in continuity. And [they] came and said, ‘That’s not in continuity.’ I said, ‘Oh, I think it works.’ ‘It doesn’t.’ ‘No, it does. I’m going to make it work.’ She’s like, ‘If you’re an executive producer, you can do it, but this is weird,'” she recalled while on Live With Kelly and Ryan.
