A 23-year-old Penn State senior set to graduate in the spring was tragically killed in a bar fight over the weekend.

Dominique Oglesby was shot dead after she became involved in an argument with an unidentified woman and man around 4:20pm Sunday at the Galaxy West Lounge in West Philadelphia, police say.

The college student had met with her dad, 42, and granddad, 66, who were also shot but survived with injuries. All three were transported to the hospital.

Officials say the man involved in the bar brawl tried to stop the two women from fighting, but was not successful. It's currently unclear whether or how the trio knew one another.

'Someone produces a firearm and irrecoverable mistakes occur,' Homicide Captain John Ryan said in a statement, as seen on Philly.com

Police are still investigating the deadly incident. The two individuals involved in the fight have not yet been arrested.

Ryan said officials are seeking help in finding the suspects, who may be a threat to others, according to CBS Philadelphia.

'Anybody that's going to discharge a firearm on a city street and kill another human being, we consider armed and dangerous,' Ryan said.

Oglesby's cousin, Naji Muhammad, posted to Facebook following the tragedy:  'I want to give our condolence to my cousin Daniell and her husband for their daughter, my cousin Dominique Oglesby,' he wrote in part.

'This animal have not yet developed to be a decent man and to give respect to life, there must be a coming out of the animal stage of development into a moral consciousness, at this time I feel so bad that we are losing our generation.'

Oglesby was a humanities major at the Penn State Harrisburg campus at the time of her death.

She was described as a 'bright, funny, hard-working, and passionate' student by one of her former high school teachers at Robert E. Lamberton High School in Overbrook Park.

'Yesterday this world was robbed of an amazing woman. Dom-Kimani Oglesby stood out to so many people for so many reasons,' her ex-English teacher, Steve Marchion, wrote to Facebook on Monday.

The post further read in part: 'For my three years as an English teacher at Lamberton, Dom was one of my students.

'She would call me out when she thought I was wrong and she would argue and defend her position until the bell rang... Dom would even come back and concede her point the next day if she found a reason to change her position.'

The instructor's post comes roughly a year after Oglesby praised Lamberton in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, saying she had never been 'pushed or challenged the way he challenged' her in school.

The college student is pictured on Facebook posing next to friends and family. She also proudly spoke about her beloved cat, Disney.

Her bio states that she grew up in Philadelphia, where she resided at the time of her death. She was employed at UPS.
